The timeline: May 17, 2004: Same-sex marriage starts in Massachusetts June 16, 2008: Same-sex marriage starts in California Oct. 10, 2008: The Supreme Court of Connecticut orders same-sex marriage legalized Nov. 4, 2008: Proposition 8 stops same-sex marriage in California Nov. 12, 2008: Same-sex marriage starts in Connecticut Apr. 3, 2009: The Iowa Supreme court legalizes same-sex marriage Apr. 6, 2009: Same-sex marriage is passed by the Vermont legislature, and then vetoed by the governor Apr. 27, 2009: Same-sex marriage to start in Iowa Sept. 1, 2009: Same-sex marriage to start in Vermont
**** The four states which currently allow gay marriage are Massachusetts, Connecticut, Vermont, and Iowa.

At this point I think there's little left to be done. I think it's more waiting for old people to die off with their unchanging minds and letting the more malleable younger generation be our focus of change.

Daily Literature Deviations is a group that is dedicated to bringing literature to the forefront of the deviantArt community. We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it.
Each day we will feature 5 deviations from the Literature categories in a News Article. In order to support the artists that we feature, we ask that you the news article as well as check out the individual pieces. We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on. We just ask that you make an attempt to help support the growing Literature community.
